About GMAT
The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), now called the GMAT Focus Edition, is a standardized exam conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) and accepted by over 7,000 MBA and business programs worldwide. It is the most widely used test for admission to top global B-schools including Harvard, Wharton, INSEAD, ISB, IIM, and more.
The GMAT Focus Edition features three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and the all-new Data Insights section. The AWA (essay) section has been removed in the new format — making the exam more focused on analytical and reasoning ability than ever before.

Exam Structure
Know exactly what to expect in each section so you can prepare smarter, not harder.
Standard multiple-choice math problems covering arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and number properties. Tests mathematical reasoning and calculation accuracy.
Given a question and two statements, determine if the statements provide sufficient information to answer it. Tests analytical thinking more than calculation.
Real-world math problems requiring translation of text into equations. Covers rates, ratios, percentages, profit/loss, mixtures, and work problems.
Read business, science, and social science passages and answer comprehension questions. Tests ability to extract main ideas, inferences, and logical structure.
Evaluate arguments — strengthen, weaken, identify assumptions, find flaws, or draw conclusions. Tests advanced logical thinking and argument analysis.
Fill in blanks in sentences or short passages. Tests vocabulary in context and understanding of logical flow within professional and academic writing.
Moved from Quant into Data Insights in the Focus Edition. Determine whether given data statements are sufficient to answer a question — core to business analysis.
Analyze data from multiple sources — tabs, tables, emails, charts — and answer questions. Tests ability to synthesize information from different formats.
Sort and analyze a spreadsheet-like table to determine if statements are true or false. Tests data interpretation and logical analysis under time pressure.
Read graphs and charts (scatter plots, bar charts, pie charts) and complete statements. Tests visual data interpretation and business analytics thinking.
Solve problems with two interrelated components — both math and verbal. One of the most challenging question types requiring simultaneous reasoning.
